
On behalf of a large seed processing company, Level Works was chosen to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of an existing multi-company initiative to monitor and reduce child labor in the Indian agricultural industry.
As part of the project, Level Works also:
- Develop monitoring methodology, field tools, and reporting instruments for the identification of child labor and root cause analysis on seed farms in India
- Undertake child labor assessments of more than 100 seed growing sites
- Train of supplier auditors on proper protocol and field work assessment methodology, tools, reporting instruments
- Compile related statistics for program review
- Facilitate formal stakeholder engagement in order to enhance program success capabilities
- Evaluate past efforts to monitor compliance with standards

In the midst of ever increasing discussion about the complexities of labor compliance issues in China, Level Works was recently commissioned to undertake research on the current Wage, Working Hours, and Benefits conditions focusing on the following five provinces of China: Guangdong, Jiangsu, Fujian, Zhejiang, and the municipality of Shanghai. Level Works was chosen in part due to our unique understanding of the record falsification issue in China, and more importantly our access to real factory documentation facilitated by our continuous improvement programs.
